1 Scope
1.1 This Web Site Privacy Policy outlines how and when we may collect information about you when you visit this site.

2.1 This web site is operated by MessageLabs Limited. MessageLabs Limited is the data controller for any information collected on this site in accordance with the United Kingdom Data Protection Act.
2.2 Information collected on this site may be transferred to other MessageLabs subsidiaries worldwide. These subsidiaries will process this information in accordance with the principles of the EU Directive 95/46/EC of 24 October 1995 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
2.3 In the following, MessageLabs Limited and other MessageLabs subsidiaries will be referred to as MessageLabs.
3 What personal data we gather and track
3.1 MessageLabs requests personal data when you place an order, subscribe to newsletters, request a service, answer a survey, enter a contest, correspond with us, or engage in certain other activities on our web site. For example:
a) If you submit an order online, MessageLabs will ask you for information necessary to complete the transaction – such as name, address, and credit card number.
b) If you request technical support online, MessageLabs will ask you for information necessary to carry out such support – such as your name, address and information about the problem you are experiencing.
c) If you subscribe to a newsletter, MessageLabs will ask for information necessary to send such newsletter to you – such as your name and email address.

4 How we use personal data that we gather and track
4.1 MessageLabs collects personal data in order to record and support your participation in the activities you select.

5 Information sharing
5.1 MessageLabs recognises its obligation to use this information in a responsible manner. 5.2 MessageLabs may outsource the collection and processing of any MessageLabs information (including but not limited to information collected from this site and from our advertisements) to data processors, agents and service providers. 6 Cookies and Web Beacons
6.1 This site does not automatically capture or store personal data from visitors to the site, other than to log the user’s IP address and session information such as the duration of the visit to the site and the nature of the browser used. This information is used only for administration of the site system and in the compilation of statistics used by us to assess the use of the site. We may also use permanent cookies to store your preferences such as language and geographical region.
6.2 MessageLabs may use web beacons - also known as single pixel or clear GIFs - to analyze traffic patterns such as the frequency of use of particular parts of the site. The data collected helps us learn what information is of most interest to our customers and what offers our customers would most like to see. MessageLabs may also use web beacons in promotional email messages and advertisements to determine whether the message or advertisement was opened and acted on. We may use this information on email response to develop future promotions you may enjoy.
